Chinese police come down hard on economic crime(在线收听) |
BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Police have busted more than 130,000 cases of economic crime and dealt with 60,000-plus suspects since a crackdown on economic crime began three months ago. A total of 180,000 cases involving some 23 billion yuan (3.6 billion U.S. dollars) have been filed for investigation during the campaign, said Liu Jinguo, vice minister of public security, at a Tuesday meeting.
Police across the country have been working together to crack down on commercial bribery, contract fraud, pyramid schemes and counterfeiting, Liu said.
"Public security departments at all levels should encourage coordination between police forces while keeping close contact with administrative departments in order to boost efficiency regarding case transfers and investigations," Liu said. |
