Iranian film awarded top prize in Shanghai film festival(在线收听) |
SHANGHAI, June 24 (Xinhua) -- The Bear, an Iranian film, was awarded top prize at the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival which concluded on Sunday evening. It was the second time for the film's director Khosrow Masoumi to win this award after 2004 at the festival, one of China's top international film events.
Russian actor Vladas Bagdonas won the Golden Goblet for the best actor for his performance in The Conductor.
Ursula Pruneda was named the best actress for her performance in the Mexican film The Dream of Lu.
Best director went to Chinese director Gao Qunshu for his exquisite depiction on a grassroots hero in the Detective Hunter Zhang.
Over 300 domestic and foreign-produced films were screened at 33 cinemas during the 15th Shanghai International Film Festival, which ran from June 16 to 24.
Founded in 1993, the Shanghai International Film Festival is China's main international film event.
Renowned French director Jean-Jacques Annaud chaired the jury for the main competition section of this year's Shanghai film festival, following in the footsteps of world-class filmmakers such as Luc Besson, Danny Boyle and Barry Levinson. |
