FIVB president not seeking for another term(在线收听

LONDON, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Wei Jizhong, President of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), has reaffirmed his determination not to seek re-election when his term ends in September.

"I made it clear that I would work for only one term when I took office four years ago, and now I keep my promise and I will not seek re-election," the 76-year-old told Xinhua on Tuesday.
FIVB presidential election is to take place in Anaheim, the United States, during the federation's general assembly in September, and there is news saying that Wei may continue his presidency.
"It's true that some colleagues and friends hope that will happen, but I would like to retire," said Wei.
The FIVB has announced three candidates for the new presidential election, namely, Doug Beal from the United States, an FIVB Board of Administration member and CEO of U.S. Volleyball Federation; Ary Graca from Brazil, FIVB executive vice-president; and Chris Schacht from Australia, president of the Australia Volleyball Federation.
"The new president will definitely be voted from these three candidates," said Wei. "This will be the first democratic election in the history of the FIVB."
The FIVB was founded in 1947. Before Wei, Frenchman Paul Libaud and Mexican Ruben Acosta were head of the organization.
