BUDAPEST, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Hungary and Israel played out a 1-1 tie in a World Cup warm-up friendly game in Budapest on Wednesday. After a goalless first half with few chances, Balazs Dzsudzsak opened the scoring for the home team 10 minutes into the second half with a left-footed strike on a rebound.
The visitors equalized 10 minutes before the end when a Elad Gabai header from a corner was parried by goalkeeper Adam Bogdan to the onrushing Tomer Homed who fired in the loose ball from close range.
The tie was both team's last warm-up games before their FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns started in September.
Hungary will play in Group D with the Netherlands, Turkey, Romania, Estonia, and Andorra. Israel will take on Portugal, Russia, Northern Ireland, Azerbaijan, and Luxembourg in Group F. |
