 1. Millions of people along the eastern coast are dealing with a third straight day of 100 degree heat and no power. Since Friday, severe weather has been blamed for power failures and at least 22 deaths, most from trees falling on homes and cars.

 
 
 
2. Fire crews in Colorado are slowing gaining control over the Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs. The fire which one says the most destructive in state history, is said to be more than 50% contained.
 
 
 
3. The Navy says it now knows what caused one of its jets to crash into a Virginia Beach apartment complex in April. Investigators say the aircraft had a rare dual-engine malfunction that caused it to loose thrust. No one was killed in the accident. But more than two dozens apartments were destroyed and 70 over injured.
 
 
 
4. The owner of a hawk used to patrol skies and deter pigeons at the Wimbledon tennis tournament says the bird was returned after a thief stolen it from a car. Rufus has a sore leg and will rest for a few days before returning to his Wimbledon duties.
