Stars shine on Oscar red carpet(在线收听

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Hollywood's night of nights did not disappoint its star-struck fans as Academy Awards nominees hit the red carpet Sunday night in stunning gowns and tuxedos.

Jessica Chastian, Best Actress nominee for her role in "Zero Dark Thirty," sparkled in a strapless beaded flesh-colored Armani gown, her red tresses flowing.
"Beasts of the Southern Wild" star Quvenzhane Wallis, the youngest-ever Best Actress nominee, wowed the crowd in a gorgeous navy-blue gown with a cute puppy purse.
The nine-year-old Wallis, a perfect mix of cuteness and elegance, was in line to become the second African-American to win an Oscar after Halle Berry in 2002. In the end, it was Jennifer Lawrence who took the gong for "Silver Linings Playbook."
Lawrence chose a soft white strapless Dior Haute Couture gown with a full skirt. She said she felt more comfortable walking on the carpet this year because she knew nobody last year. However, she looked less comfortable accepting the award, tripping up on her dress on her way to the stage.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing arrived dressed elegantly in a pink strapless gown.
Daniel Day-Lewis entered the Dolby Theater looking appropriately presidential in a navy blue Domenico Vacca suit before taking off a record third Best Actor Oscar, this time for his role as President Lincoln.
"Twilight" star Kristen Stewart was in a beige white, lacy and strapless Reem Acra gown, with a short train. She hobbled her way to the red carpet on crutches, due to an unspecified injury.
