ISLAMABAD, April 23 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed and 37 others injured on Tuesday night in a series of bomb blasts followed by a suicide attack in Pakistan's southwestern provincial capital of Quetta, local media reported.

  According to the reports, at least four blasts took place in different parts of the city including the suicide attack that targeted a security check post at the Nechari Road in Quetta, the capital of Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan.
  Security officials and witnesses told local media that the suicide bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into the check post of Frontier Constabulary (FC) that killed three people including a security personnel on the spot and injured 32 others including four children.
  Soon after the blast, security forces, police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to the hospital where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries.
  Hospital official said that at least six injured were in critical condition and were shifted to the intensive care unit for treatment.
  City police chief and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) said that around 80-100 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast that destroyed the check post building completely besides damaging nearby houses and shops.
  This was the fourth blast in the city within the two-hour time on Tuesday night.
  Earlier, at least three low intensity blasts hit different parts of the city and injured six persons, besides spreading panic among masses and putting security forces on high alert.
  Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari condemned the suicide attack and asked the concerned authorities to provide quick and proper treatment to the victims.
  No group or militant organization claimed responsibility for the attacks yet.
