波兰副交通部长驳回高速公路丑闻(在线收听) |
WARSAW, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk removed Tadeusz Jarmuziewicz from the position of deputy transport minister on Monday after Polish media accused the latter of holding a private meeting over a controversy-shrouded stretch of Poland's A1 motorway. According to local media reports, Jarmuziewicz met officials from the Austrian Alpine Bau company in May even though ministry officials were forbidden to meet privately with representatives of companies executing projects commissioned by the Polish general directorate for national roads and highways.
Jarmuziewicz said he was not guilty of malpractice but stressed the prime minister had the right to appoint or recall a member of his cabinet. He added he wanted to continue as a deputy in Poland's lower house.
Jarmuziewicz has formerly been a member of Poland's lower house or Sejm in 1997-2001 and 2001-2005.
The 568 km autostrada A1 in Poland is a north-south motorway that will run through central Poland to the Polish-Czech border. |
