1. Police say two people are dead following a helicopter crash during rush hour in central London. The helicopter apparently hit a construction crane on top of a building. It crashed just south of the Thames near an underground train station and the British spy agency MI6.

 

2. A new poll suggests that nearly 60% of Americans want stricter gun laws and 84% who answered the AP-GFK poll want background checks for gun purchases at gun shows.

 

3. Wednesday's announcement by President Obama on gun control efforts is expected to bring together law enforcement officials, lawmakers and children who wrote Obama about gun violence following last month's elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.
