 A trough is bringing storms to Queensland and northeast New South Wales. A low and cold front are bringing showers and highland snowfall to New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Onshore winds are bringing isolated showers to southern WA and Queensland’s coasts.

 
Looking around the country, Queensland is expecting isolated showers in the east with areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms through the southern interior. A cooler southwesterly change will spread east from the inland. 
 
A much cooler day in New South Wales today, snow showers are luring to 800 meters in alpine areas with snow flurries about high parts of central tablelands. Rain and possible thunderstorms in the northeast. 
 
Scattered showers in Victoria. More widespread about the southwest coast and northeast ranges. Local hail and thunder. Snow to 700 meters with fresh northwesterly winds throughout. 
 
Scattered showers around to the north and west of Tasmania, easing later. Shower is tending to rain in the east. Highland snow. 
 
South Australia will be cold throughout with fresh southwest to southerly winds strong near the coast. Showers and isolated thunderstorms with small hail possible through the south, and possible snow through elevated areas. 
 
Areas of morning frost through the southern inland of Western Australia. Isolated showers near the south coast. 
 
In the Northern Territory, it will be mostly sunny apart from some cloud and early fog patches over the Top End. 
 
Looking ahead to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities: fine in Brisbane and Sydney; a shower or two for Canberra; scattered showers in Melbourne and Adelaide; wet and windy in Hobart; partly cloudy in Perth; sunny in Darwin.
