 1. Johnson & Johnson (强生公司) and its subsidiaries have agreed to pay over 2.2 billion dollars to settle allegations that it promoted powerful psychiatric drugs for unproved uses in children, seniors and disable patients. The company was also accused of paying kickbacks to physicians and pharmacists who prescribed the drugs. The agreement is the 3rd largest US settlement involving a drug maker. 

 
2. Relatives of the gunman charged in last week’s Los Angeles Airport shooting expressed sympathy to the family of the security officer who was killed. Reading a written statement, their attorney said the family also hoped the recovery of the other victims.
 
3. Ousted Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi is out of the detention and in a court. Monday’s hearing was twice interrupted by shouting and Morsi told the court he rejects the proceedings. The trial has adjourned until January.
 
4. And two members of the Boston Red Sox have shaved their World Series beards for charity. Money raised from the shave-off will benefit victims of the Boston Marathon.
