 The Coalition is at the centre of a diplomatic row with Papua New Guinea over the latest asylum seeker deal. PNG’s Prime Minister Peter O’Neil denies that he told the Opposition that he’ll be given control over Australia’s aid money to his country as part of the agreement. Now this comes as Immigration Minister Tony Burke prepares to tour Manus Island following allegations of rape and torture among detainees.

 
A new scam is targeting migrants and temporary visa holders. Callers in personating government officials are telling migrants there’s a problem with their immigration services' ailing number, but the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission says that number doesn’t actually exist. The victims are told to pay 900 dollars or risk being deported.
 
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have named their new son. He’s to be called George Alexander Louis. George had been a widely favored name among bookmakers.
 
Pope Francis has celebrated his first Mass since arriving in Brazil. An estimated crowd of 150,000 people attended the service at the Shrine in the state of Sao Paulo. The Pope is in Brazil to attend a World  Youth Day festival.
 
And a new study has found that women may not need to have pap smears every two years. Researchers from the university in New South Wales reviewed 20 years of cancer data from Australia, New Zealand and England. They found pap smears every three years had the same outcomes as more frequent tests.
