Shen Danyang said although exports in December are likely to grow "relatively fast", the country should not be too optimistic. He said an exporter confidence index rose by 1.1 percentage points to 100 in November, still hovering near the boom-bust line, showing that trading companies are still cautious about the future.

He also said that Shanghai is working on a revised list of restricted investment areas for its free trade zone for 2014. Till the end of November, 58 foreign companies have registered to set operations in the FTZ, with a total registered capital of over 610 million US dollars.
