Leading our news this morning. Customers are taking the fight against ANZ bank fees to court in Australia’s biggest consumer class action. 38,000 customers have joined that action. Law firm Maurice BlackBurn says ANZ Bank fees are excessive and not reflective of the actual costs faced by the bank. At least 4 people have been killed and dozens injured in a passenger train crash in NY city overnight. The train was travelling towards Grand Central Station when it derailed as it rounded a bend. Witnesses say the train appeared to be travelling faster than normal.
Dance Music prodigy flume has cleaned up at the Arias, picking up four awards including best male artist. Psychedelic rockers Tame Impala won best group, album of the year and best rock album. And pop sensation, Jessica Mauboy won best female artist and Guy Sebastian took home 2 awards.
PM Tony Abbott says the Coalition is focused on delivering its election promised not what some voters are thought the government promised. Mr.Abbott previously said the Coalition was on a unity ticket with Labour on school funding. But now plans to axe the Ganski Model.
And South Australia’s newest supreme court judge will face court after hitting a cyclist while drink driving on Saturday morning. Justice Ann Bampton was allegedly more than twice the legal limit when she crashed in Adelaide’s southeast. |
