Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met with Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner in Buenos Aires. It’s part of Wang Yi’s regional tour to expand China’s political and economic ties with Latin American countries.

Wang Yi was received by the Argentine President at Government House, where the two sides signed trade agreements, including aerospace infrastructure.
During the meeting, President Fernandez de Kirchner said Argentina attaches great importance to its strategic partnership with China, and is willing to deepen mutual trust and cooperation. Wang Yi said China wishes to maintain high-level exchanges and strategic communications with Argentina.
Wang Yi also said that China looks forward to promoting cooperation with Argentina in agriculture, energy, infrastructure and industrial manufacturing, so as to realize common development and prosperity. The Chinese Forein Minister is on a tour of four Latin-American countries ahead of a visit in July by President Xi Jinping, who will be attending the BRICS Summit in Fortaleza, Brazil. Wang Yi’s tour includes Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina and Brazil.
