PARIS, May 21 (Xinhua) -- French President Francois Hollande and visiting Congolese counterpart Joseph Kabila Kabange expressed willingness to further diversify economic links and improve cooperation in social issues, a statement released by the presidency office, the Elysee said Wednesday.
"The two heads of State stressed the need to develop and diversify the economic and human exchanges between the two countries in sectors such as transport, infrastructure or sustainable management of natural resources," the communique reported.
Hailing bilateral partnership mainly in primary education, training, access to water and financial governance, Hollande stressed France's "commitment to the protection of political freedoms, to fight against sexual violence and defend and human rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo."
At Paris meeting, both leaders also discussed the situation in the Central African Republic (CAR) where troops from both countries have been deployed in CAR to help local authorities to stop bloody sectarian fighting.(本文由在线英语听力室整理编辑) |
