This is the first legislative response to the disclosures by former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden. Though some are saying the compromise measure was significantly watered down. 2. Thailand’s military seizes power of the government Thursday in a bloodless coup. They issued a wave of changes such as a nationwide curfew and dissolving the government further solidifying their authority since military rule was declared on Tuesday.
3. Assailants in 2 SUVs plowed through shoppers while setting off explosives on a busy street market in China’s volatile north western region. Local officials said 31 people were killed and 90 injured.
4. A young boy finds an orphaned bear cub on his walk home. The police temporarily took the cub in until it is transferred to Oregon State University. It will eventually find a home or at a zoo or sanctuary. |
