The temperature is in the single digits in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, but Cindy Lundin can't wait for her daily swim.
I come down and soak in the pool, to, er, alleviate all the aches and pains that built up during the day.
Cindy isn't the only one enjoying the piping hot springs that naturally bubble up into the local pools. Some believe that mineral waters have healing properties. Dr. Drew Werner agrees there might be some health benefits.
There probably is something here that is good for us and there's a lot in medicine we can't explain scientifically.
Dr. Werner says exercise in the pool during the winter months is therapeutic, especially for those with arthritis or other ailments. He says the water itself is soothing to the body.
When water comes up like this, the mineral content in the water is good for our skin. It doesn't dry us nearly as much.
Cindy finds it to be the perfect place to relieve stress.
There's something in the water that is just...It surrounds you and it's comforting. It's relaxing.
