1. The White House says the Obama administration is making strides to fight against the Ebola. The administration announced Tuesday it has set up a network of 35 hospitals across the country to deal with Ebola patients. President Obama also visited the National Institute of Health to highlight advances in research for a future Ebola vaccine. 2. NASA’s quest to send astronauts back to space continues this week with a test launch of a new Orion spacecraft. Officials announced the unmanned test will last 4 and half hours and will be the farthest built for human’s capsule flown since the Apollo Moon missions.
3. Former Pentagon Ashton Carter is likely to be President Obama’s nominee for Defense Secretary. White House Press Secretary, Josh Earnest stopped short of confirming the President’s pick, but praised Carter for his ability. Carter would replace Chuck Hagel who announced his resignation last week.
4. And this hungry polar bear has found a new home to rummage. The bear was found sifting through food and trash bins in an oil rig site in the Russian Arctic. Handlers quickly subdued the animal and air-lifted her to a better home. |
