This is AP News Minute. A second Republican candidate has emerged in the 2016 presidential race. Kentucky senator Rand Paul making his presidential campaign official at an event in Louiville Tuesday. So far, Paul and Texas senator Ted Cruz are the only two to officialy enter the race.
Jury deliberations began Tuesday in the trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The 21-year-old faces 30 charges related to the bombing, 17 of which could carry the federal death penalty.

The US postal service issuing a new limited-edtion stamp honoring Maya Angelou. The stamp features a portrait of late poet and civil rights activist. Angelou died last May at the age of 86.
