A full investigation into the Yangtze River disaster is underway. A State Council team, joined by over 20 prominent experts has begun interviewing survivors, including the sunken cruise ship's captain and chief engineer, as well as the ship's designer and witnesses.

Experts have also collected and analyzed meteorological data from weather radars and lightning indicators.

Ship information, including its design drawings and certification papers, has also been gathered. 

The team has also boarded the ship to look for evidence from its navigation devices and video monitors, trying to understand what exactly happened as the boat went down. Investigators say they will continue to expand their resources and make every effort to ensure that no detail is overlooked.
