This is AP news minute. 1. The white house said president Barack Obama has told adviser he want to select 10,000 Syrian refugees into the U.S in the coming budget year. The U.S has accepted only about 1500 Syrians since civil war broke out more than 4 year ago.
2. Floodwaters broke through a berm and swamped city near Tokyo. There were no immediate reports of causalities but rescue officials said there were overwhelmed by pleas for help.
3. Andy Parker, father of WDBJ reporter Alison Parker who was shot and shot live on-air while reporting in Virginia addressed the gun reform rally in Washington. Parker urged supporters to keep the pressure on state and national lawmakers.
