[07:33.54]you may have noticed trees in our areas are blossoming and their fruit ripening.

[07:43.93]how fruit ripens especially after it has fallen from the tree or vine?

[07:55.56]A single chemical called ethylene is produced by the fruit itself. 

[08:02.43]And it is this chemical that causes the fruit to ripen. 

[08:08.18]When the fruit produces increased amounts of ethylene, 

[08:13.35]the ethylene affects the fruit physiologically. 

[08:18.39]The fruit begins to breathe oxygen, 

[08:22.75]and the oxygen supply in turn raises the internal temperature of the fruit. 

[08:30.01]This increased internal temperature allows the ripening process to begin
