Japan's telecoms giant Softbank is spending just over $20 billion to buy a majority stake in the US mobile carrier Sprint. The deal will bring together the third biggest mobile carriers in both Japan and the US. Softbank's billionaire founder and chief is Masayoshi Son. He's the brainchild behind this takeover.
