Pence's campaign plane slipped off a runway while landing in New York's LaGuardia Airport on Thursday night. Nobody was hurt. At least 117 people were arrested in North Dakota on Thursday when authorities ousted protesters from private land in the path of the Dakota Access oil pipeline. The pipeline's route is near an Indian reservation, and activists say it could threaten the water supply. 7 ranchers charged in the armed occupation of a national wildlife refugee in Oregon were all found not guilty of conspiracy charges on Thursday. Group leader Ammon Bundy was not released as he faces charges from a separate armed standoff with authorities. And parts of the Southeast are dealing with a drought and spreading wildfires. Fires have burned more than 12,000 acres in Alabama in the past month. Forecasters say no rain is in sight. Sandy Kozel, The Associated Press with AP News Minute. |
