President-elect Donald Trump says he disavows and condemns the alt-right movement in white-supremacists who claimed Trump's election boosts their agenda. Trump told the New York Times he doesn't want to energize such groups.

Fire officials say arsonists are to blame for many of the wildfires burning in the Southeast and more are being lit each day. 44 uncontained fires are now covering more 120,000 acres in several states.

Police north of Houston say a robbery suspect was killed while trying to hold up a chicken restaurant. An off-duty officer working security shot and killed the suspect. 2 people in the restaurant were wounded.

And heavy rain from Hurricane Otto was blamed for 3 deaths in Panama. The late season storm is expected to make landfall around the Costa Rica-Nicaragua border on Thursday.
