1. Police say a man accused plowing a car into a crowd enjoying a parade in New Orleans is being investigated for driving while intoxicated. 21 people were hospitalized. Authorities say the crash on Saturday evening sends a strong message about drinking and driving. 

2. Thousands of civilians fled western Mosul on Sunday as Iraqi forces continued their advance into neighborhoods held by the Islamic state group. United Nation officials say civilians made up an usually high precaution in the casualty in the battle in Mosul.

3. A 17-year old transgender boy completed an undefeated season by winning a controversial Texas state girls wrestling title. The weekend competition received heavy criticism from those who believed the testosterone he's taking as he transitions from male to female created an unfair advantage. 

4. Amateur luge fans celebrated the Russian holiday pancake week by slicing down a makeshift icy track. The holiday precedes land to meet orthodox Christian calendar and ash out the winter.
