　　全国人民代表大会（the National People's Congress, NPC）是由选举产生的代表(elected deputies/delegates)组成的；中国人民政治协商会议(the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, CPPCC)是由邀请来的各个党派、各方面社会的名流以及各方面界别的代表组成的(invited members from non-CPC political parties, mass organizations and different areas)，是邀请来共同参政议政的。二者是选举和邀请的区别。

　　全国人民代表大会（the National People's Congress, NPC）

　　* 成员是“代表”(NPC deputies/delegates)

　　* 人大代表提“议案”（motion）

　　* “审议”政府工作报告(deliberate government work report)

　　* 履行职责、行使权力（fulfil duty and exercise power）

　　* 人大会议是“X届全国人大X次会议”(the Xth annual session of Xth NPC，比如：今年的人大会议是十二届全国人大四次会议，the Fourth Annual Session of the 12th NPC)

　　中国人民政治协商会议(the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, CPPCC)

　　* 成员是“委员”(CPPCC members)

　　* 政协委员提“提案”(proposal)

　　* “讨论”政府工作报告（discuss government work report）

　　* 政协委员参政议政（participate in the discussion and the handling of state affairs）

　　*政协会议是“全国政协X届X次会议”(the Xth session of Xth CPPCC National Committee， 比如：今年的中国人民政治协商会议是全国政协十二届四次会议，the Fourth Session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee)
