| This is a photo of Willie P. Williams, he was arrested back in 1985 for rape, kidnapping and aggravated sodomy. DNA testing has proven that Mr Williams is innocent of the crime he was convicted of. When he's been gone for so many years and all of a certain he is coming home. William's mother is understandably emotional at the prospect of her son finally coming home after spending the best years of his life behind bars. Aimee Maxwell heads up the Georgia Innocence Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to free innocent inmates through DNA testing. There was evidence from the person who committed the crime, and the great thing is Cliff said earlier, the miraculous thing is it was still there and it was able to be tested. Cliff Williams and an intern with the Georgia Innocence Project did the lion share who are to prove Williams's innocence. He explains one reason that Williams case was so appealing. Now after the first 2 attacks, our client Mr Williams was arrested on unrelated charges and while he was in Fulton County jail, he, additional 3 attacks occurred in the same general area under almost identical circumstances. The Georgian Bureau of Investigations conducted the DNA testing that will mean Willie Williams would soon be a free man. The only thing I want is my son to be free, for him to walk out of those doors and be a free man. |
