Crater 火山口 A crater is a big hole in the ground. 火山口就是地面上的大洞。
Volcanic activity can make craters. 火山活动会形成火山口。
After a volcano erupts, we see a huge hole on the top of the volcano. 火山喷发后,火山顶上会有个大洞。
If there is no volcanic activity for a long time, snow and rainfall stays inside the hole. 如果长时间没有火山活动,雪和雨水就会存留在洞中。
Then the hole becomes a huge lake. 之后这个洞就成了大湖。
It is called a crater lake. 我们称之为火山口湖。
Diamond Lake in Oregon, U.S.A. is an example of a crater lake. 美国俄勒冈州的“钻石湖”是火山口湖的典例。
