A recent poll by Rasmussen Reports shows that nearly one-third of the Americans surveyed believe that it's likely the United States will experience a second civil war sometime in the next five years.Meantime, a United Nations report on poverty and inequality in the US concluded that the Trump administration's 1.5 trillion U.S. dollar tax cuts "overwhelmingly benefited the wealthy and worsened inequality."On the front of foreign policy, the US has withdrawn from a number of international treaties, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, the Paris Agreement on climate change, and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action – better known as the Iran nuclear deal. And recent media reports are suggesting that President Trump has complained to his aides that he wants to quit the World Trade Organization.As the political environment in the United States becomes increasingly polarized, and the gap of economic inequality continues to grow, today we talk about American domestic politics and its global implications.
