Three people have been killed and seven others injured after two gunmen fired into a crowd near a busy strip mall in New Orleans. The police are asking people who witnessed the attack to come forward with information about the gunmen.

The death toll from a strong earthquake that struck a popular tourist island in Indonesia has risen to 14, with more than 160 injured. The quake damaged more than 1,000 homes and was felt in nearby Bali.

An explosive wildfire in northern California has displaced about 50,000 people and burned near 300 homes. 5 people have been killed in what is now the largest fire burning in California.

And Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Russia's naval officers at a Navy Day parade in St. Petersburg. Russia is commemorating Navy Day with parades in several cities, the largest in St. Petersburg.
