And Oakland California teachers' union, and school district officials are set to resume negotiations on Friday. About 3,000 teachers went on strike Thursday over issues including pay and class size.

And an Israeli spacecraft is heading toward the moon for that country's first attempted lunar landing. A Space-X rocket carried the lunar lander into space from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
