A student gunman opened fire at a southern California high school, killing two students and wounding three others. He was captured after shooting himself in the head. Authorities said the shooting occurred at Saugus High school in Santa Clarita about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Elizabeth Warren has again scorned big money's influence in politics. The Democratic presidential candidate said the US shouldn't have elections that are about billionaires calling all the shots. Warren‘s comments came as billionaire Michael Bloomberg considers make a late run for the Democratic nomination.

A picture taken from the International Space Station shows smoke stretching from the edge of eastern Australia over the Pacific Ocean. Officials say more than 1,000 firefighters are battling about 60 fires around New South Wales.

And two red panda cubs are making their public debut at prospect park zoo in New York. The male cubs were born over the summer in their indoor den where their mother has been caring for them. They are now old enough to venture outside to explore their habitat.
