The federal opposition has accused the prime minister of lying about the government's corporate tax cut proposal.

Malcolm Turnbull yesterday said treasury hadn't identified the cost of slashing the tax rate for companies to 25 per cent over a decade,but treasury department secretary John Fraser has told a senate hearing today it'd cost at least 48 billion.

The opposition says the prime minister has misled voters.
