A five year old boy is recovering in hospital after surviving a car crash in the New South Wales Hunter Valley which killed his father, grand father, and a real estate agent. The four were in a car which rolled down an embankment on a farm east of Scone sometime yesterday morning. The boy was found by neighbours several hours after the crash and airlifted to John Hunter hospital with a broken arm.

A man is being questioned by police about the death of a woman in a house fire at Guildford in Sydney's west. The man, and two children, were found outside the home earlier this morning. A 30-year-old woman was found dead inside. A police spokeswoman says the man has been taken into custody.

Fighting is intensifying over the Iraqi city of Mosul as Kurdish Peshmerga and government forces try to rid the city of Islamic State militants. The United States is carrying out airstrikes on the northern city, which is the last IS stronghold in Iraq. Explosions have been heard and seen on the city's eastern front, where Kurdish fighters moved forward to take outlying villages.

The house where Adolf Hitler was born is set to be seized and torn down by the Austrian government. Authorities want to discourage the site becoming a neo-Nazi shrine. The former inn has been at the centre of a legal dispute for decades with the owner refusing to sell. Now the Austrian government will pass a law allowing it to take control of the building and destroy it.
