A member of a mafia-linked Australian crime family has been killed in a suspected targeted shooting in Sydney's inner south-west. Pasquale Barbaro was found dead with several gunshot wounds on a footpath last night. The car thought to have been used by the gunman was later found dumped and burnt out.

Meantime Mr Trump has spoken by phone to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, for the first time since being elected.
