At a press event, Clooney saying Megan was being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it's history repeating itself and we've seen how that ends.

When Diana died in 1997 in a car being trailed by paparazzi, Clooney lashed out at the tabloids. If you weren't hiding behind the profession of journalism you would be an accomplice to a crime and you would go to jail. Diana's death changed the way photographers cover the Royals but not the kind of tabloid headlines they face. Markel has recently faced stories claiming she's difficult and that she even made her sister-in-law Kate cry. Royal staff recently said both Megan and Kate are the target of toxic trolls. But tonight the palace isn't commenting.
