A communiqué was adopted at the sixth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, which was held in Beijing from Tuesday to Thursday.

General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee attended the plenum and delivered an important speech.

China will continue relief efforts in tsunami-hit Tonga

China has said that it will continue to provide Tonga with cash and other disaster-relief materials in affected areas.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian says the Chinese Embassy in Tonga has donated 100,000 U.S. dollars in basic humanitarian assistance to the tsunami-stricken island nation.

He also says China has delivered drinking water and food to the nation.

The statement came after China repelled a U.S. destroyer on Thursday, which trespassed in territorial waters surrounding the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea without Chinese government approval.
