If you are thinking about a career in investment banking, then you need to get to know Merrill Lynch, because it is one of the oldest and the largestest financial services firms in the world, plus, it was ranked 21st ideal employer overall in universities’ annual survey of undergraduate students.

Headquartered at Four World financial center in New York City, Merrill Lynch has close to 56,000 employees working around the globe in every major financial market, the company provides a wide range of financial services to private clients, all the way up to large institutions and corporations. Merrill organizes its business in 2 main segments, global markets and investment banking, and global wealth management,

Students and young professional typically enter Merrill through its Summer Internship programme. It’s a paid ten-week programme for undergrad juniors that drops interns right into the fire, learning and contributing as they go at company locations across the globe.

Some summer internships are rotational, allowing you to see various parts of a business sector. Other internships have a single focus. But all interns receive mid and end of programme reviews to help them learn their strengths and areas of improvement.

Merrill typically accepts about 600 interns per summer and has close to a 75% rate of hiring their interns.In most cases students will have a Job offer before they even start their senior year. Because of the high volume of applicants for the summer internship programme you've got to have an impressive GPA and a few other skill sets to be considered.

It’s a goal getting culture, It’s a goal getting industry, so you need to be to have the stamina, and enthusiasm to want to top it out.
