1. Tropical Storm Fay is moving northeast after making landfall in southwest Florida. The storm is expected to bring sustained winds of up to 60 miles an hour. Some places could see up to ten inches of rain.

2. Russian soldiers reportedly have taken about 20 Georgian troops prisoner at a key Black Sea port. Russian troops also reportedly commandeered American Humvees awaiting shipment back to the US. Speaking from Belgium, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Moscow is playing a dangerous game.

3. A Texas judge has ordered a 14-year-old girl be placed in foster care after allegedly being married to jailed polygamous leader Warren Jeffs at the age of twelve. Child Welfare authorities have been investigating the cases of 440 children from the Yearning for Zion Ranch, that after the state Supreme Court ordered the children be returned to their parents.

4. And Baseball Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski has been hospitalized in Boston for what his spokesman called something "serious". The spokesman wouldn't give any details or say when Yaz was admitted to Mass General. The 68-year-old was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1989.
