2. Meantime, federal and local authorities are putting the finishing touches on their security plan for Tuesday's inauguration. At least a million people are expected to converge on the parade route and officials are leaving nothing to chance.

3. Officials in New York have released this video, showing the spectacular splashdown of US Airways Flight 1549. No one was killed as the plane made an emergency water landing. The aircraft is still in the Hudson River as officials work on getting it out.

4. Obama-mania has spread to Brazil. Workers are painting his face onto hundreds of masks that are sure to be a hit come the big carnival celebration.
