Hello there. I'm Virginia Cha at the CNN center in Atlanta with a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

Call it a sign of how intense this election is. Both presidential candidates are breaking with tradition and they're actually campaigning on this Election Day. Barack Obama's final campaign stopped today, Indiana. John McCain making a final appeal in two western battleground states today, he is in Colorado as well as New Mexico.

Armed militants have kidnapped at least 15 children from a high school in northwest Pakistan. Three has managed escape. A Pakistani military source says the militants rounded up the children, put them in several cars and then drove off. Security forces are investigating the kidnapping. So far no one has claimed responsibility.

The crisis in the Congo continues today. The Congolese government has rejected rebel leader Laurent Nkunda’s demand for direct talk to solve the latest crisis. Fighting between rebels and the government have left tens of thousands of refugees desperate for food and water.

Two large bones found in Sierra Nevada mountain range are confirmed to be those of adventurer Steve Fossett. DNA test has made that conformation. They were found near his plane's wreckage on Wednesday, those bones. The millionaire adventurer disappeared last September. His wife released a statement thanking authorities for bringing closure to the tragedy. Fossett set world records in everything from hot-air balloons to boats.

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments on profanities, specific to television. The question: Can the US government ban the one time use of profanities on live broadcast? Broadcasters say the FCC’s policy on these fleeting expletives interferes with their free speech rights and could discourage networks from airing live entertainment and sports broadcast. Government attorneys say the FCC is well in its right to curb foul language on TV. It's the Supreme Court's first major broadcast indecency case in 30 years.

If you planned it right, you could eat free today. Starbucks offering free coffee for anyone who asked on this Election Day. The company was going to restrict the promotion to voters but changed that when it found out some states forbid handing out freebie on an election day.  Krispy Kreme giving away star-shaped doughnuts today, you can get a free chicken sandwich at participating Chick-Fil-A as well.
