2. California's governor says dozens of homes have been destroyed by the wildfire raging in the hills above Santa Barbara. More than 13,000 people have evacuated. More fire crews have been called in from around the state to battle the blaze.

3. Thousands of Pakistani civilians are fleeing a former tourist spot turned war zone in northwest Pakistan. Military troops are fighting it out with Taliban militants that have settled in the region some 60 miles from the capital Islamabad.

4. Thousands of New Yorkers took part in the World's Biggest Bed Jump. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson helped to lead the crowd. A team of 100 people worked for five weeks to build the 42 foot by 28 foot beds.
