2.Iran claims it arrested three American hikers for illegal entry and says western media are using the issue for propaganda. Reports say the hikers ignored warnings and straightly crossed the unmarked border between northern Iraq and Iran.

3.Australian police claim they thwarted a terrorist plot by Muslim extremists. Officials say the men were planning to invade a military base and open fire with automatic weapons until they were shot dead themselves. Four people are under arrest and several others are being held.

4.Today is President Barack Obama's 48th birthday. But he is not having a party. He is set for a White House huddled with Democratic senators to discuss his health care overhaul plan.
