1. There are reports Poland and France plan to jointly push for film maker Roman Polanski's release from detention. Polish news agency PAP also says the two countries will ask the US to offer clemency. Polanski was arrested Saturday over charges he had sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.

2. The FBI has released security tapes, showing the chaos immediately after the 1995 bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building. The Oklahoman newspaper says it received the tapes from an attorney who got them through the federal Freedom of Information Act.

3. Iran says it has successfully test-fired short-range missiles in drills meant to show Tehran can crush any military threats. The tests come just days after the revelation Iran is building a uranium enrichment facility.

4. German Chancellor Angela Merkel has won a second term. Merkel's win will allow her to end so-called "grand coalition" with Social Democrats and form a new government with the pro-business Free Democrats.
