"She is my best friend right now." Sandy LaPierre is giving her furry pal some extra love tonight. After all, she spent her last month thinking her cat Smoka was dead. When a fire broke out at the building they were living in. LaPierre was forced to leave without her pet. Whenever my neighbor kicked the door and get me out she hid underneath the bed and that was the last time I see her. 26 days pasted, crews from Starks Wrecking reboarded in their way through rubble when they spot eyes peaking through the debris. "I walk to see its head and it was under debris still moving." Smoka was alive. "The debris looked just like this, land on the top of them, tons of smash on top of this." Buried under 30 tons of rubbles, rendering woods, rusty nails and jagged glass. "With those bulldozers, those big bulldozers rolling over the top of that thing. For day after day, it should not have made it." No one really knows how she did. "And the vet said he has no idea ,so make probably ate bugs … bugs and such." Aside from being a little dehydrated, Smoka is doing just fine. And it is definitely living up to her name. "That's my little girl." And if you are wondering, Smoka was the cat's name even before last month's fire. |
