This spring-like statuette will be handed out next month on June 14th in New York City. Hey, you see last year’s recipient for the Best Political Blog Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post, receiving her statuette, so who will pick it up this year. Let’s begin with music, the Artist of the Year for 2010 is:

OK Go, this is the band's video for This Too Shall Pass, it attracted more than 12 million views within just two months, and they won what Webby's called “a genius approach to videos, raising the bar for modern music”. But the Best Viral Video, however, goes to the Muppets, check this out. This is their rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody. This video attracted 14 million views on YouTube alone. 

Now take a look at social networking sites, Twitter, no surprise here, won the award for Best Social Networking site. Foursquare.com won the award for Best Mobile Social Networking Site. This service allows you to share your exact location with your friends.

Now this year, the Webby said something different, there are two awards, that General Webby Award decided on by a team of 500 internet experts, but they also introduced the People's Voice Award, allowing anyone in the world to vote online, more than a million people did cast their votes. Now on the most serious note, they awarded a famed Film Critic Roger Ebert with their Person of the Year Award. The famed critic lost his voice because of a surgery for cancer, but the Webby say his online journal here Roger ebert.com raise the bar for thoughtfulness. And the ceremony will be hosted by actor B.J. Novak and recipients can only deliver a five-word acceptance speech, so just enough to say thanks.
