While most Chinese bundle up in winter, some are stripping down to celebrate the frosty weather.

Although the temperature may fall to minus 10 to 20 degrees Celsius¹ in northeast China, that can’t chill the enthusiasm of these winter swimmers who took the plunge² to greet 2014.

Some of them traveled all the way from southern China to dive in. They view swimming in winter as a personal ritual and form of exercise that offers several health benefits
