Rescue efforts for the missing and the collection of passengers' belongings inside the hull continues.
The ministry of transport has increased the capacity of the rescue effort. More than 250 ships and over two and a half thousand rescuers are now searching for the final few missing passengers. Three floating bridges have been erected over the Yangtze River, which are 200 meters, 500 meters and 700 meters downstream from the site of the disaster.
The search area has been expanded to 14-hundred kilometers along the river, from Jianli county to Wusong Port in the city of Shanghai.
The ministry requires that all shipping companies and maritime departments facilitate the search efforts. Meanwhile, authorities continue to collect and categorize the belongings found on the ship. A clean-up and dismantle process has begun on the fourth floor.
All the bodies have been transported to local funeral homes and DNA confirmation is underway.
